Did you know that reciprocal agreement exists for Irish people living in Australia?

To sum up, this agreement allows for people who are visiting Australia to be eligible for limited subsidised health services for « medically necessary » treatments while visiting Australia with Medicare cover. Here is an idea of some of the basic T&Cs :

=> Be residents of the countries which are in the Commonwealth or a country which signed these agreements

=> Be admited in a public hospital. If you go to a private hospital, you’ll be ineligible to RHCA and be charged as an ineligible patient.

=> Be admited in a private hospital which has publicly contracted beds.

=> Inform the admissions staff that you want to be treated as a Medicare public patient under a RHCA. Obviously, staff should request evidence of that.
